Bought this camera after reading so many reviews … picture quality is not as good as should be …. no sharpness but dull IQ … sent it back and got Canon PowerShot A 2100 IS …. IQ excellent …. no regret what so ever going back to Canon .

I bought this because I had been having a bit of a problem with my old one trying to get decent clear pictures. I read loads of reviews and saw this had tons of awards so decided to go for it.
I have had it for a few weeks and I seem to have the biggest problem with pictures in restaurants and dim light situations.
From all the reviews I had read, I was under the impression that it was idiot proof but it doesn’t seem to be as simple as setting it to EXR and let it do its thing.
In a restaurant I was in, the auto EXR kept selecting NIGHT SCENE with no flash. The only way I could avoid this was by selecting forced flash. Didn’t think that was the point. It seems to like selecting MACRO all the time too…no good when you are taking a barbeque party scene.
I will continue to read the manual and follow hints and tips I find online. I kind of think it must be me and I am missing something. I thought it would be point and shoot but it seems a little more involved than that.
However, the pictures that do work properly are outstanding. So I will work at it and see what happens.

I bought this camera as an easy carry camera and for use to take images underwater whilst diving. Overall, the camera is excellent, particularly the EXR function, which is absolutely great.
However, there are a few small issues.
- The battery when using EXR drains really quickly and the indicator of battery life is not the best – buy a spare if you might be using it alot!
- The Macro facility underwater really struggles to find focus and was quite disappointing, especially compared to some cheaper and older canon models

Clear pictures. However, pictures look darker and more pixelated on the camera screen than they actually transfer to when printed or unloaded. Can be slightly deceiving. Lots of photo options. Would recommend if you don’t mind the darkening on screen.
